Very disappointing night. I don’t see any big swings or high end starter outcomes for any of these picks. Powell may have the most upside. At least he is a plus plus athlete. And three flawed point guard picks??! Why not go for Fleming or Raynaud over Saraf?

Uninspiring indeed. After reading David Thorpe's analysis of C. Coward whom he rated as a second pick was hoping the Nets would go that route. And to not choose Maluach or Noa seems a big whiff. What is the vision? Seems they might have the running and passing part but who is going to defend and make buckets. ( Cam Thomas cannot do it all alone....and is he finally healthy enough to have a whole season) After all the waiting this seems less than stellar.

Hope Jordi can uncover some hidden defensive demons and they have a rigorous shooting coach. After all they are young.....but it feels like a big ugh.

Steve, always appreciate your insight; although I wish it wasn't so negative.

You correctly note that "Obviously, we can’t give Marks a “grade” for a Draft class whose development is years in the making". How about a positive spin on these guys? What would be a best or better case scenario?

I like the Powell pick—I think he can develop into a rotation piece on a contending team. Unfortunately, I am even less hopeful about the others than when I wrote this. Demin in particular has too high a bust potential to justify picking him at 8.
