Sean Marks has to trade these vets in order to set up the foundation for us to start winning in 2026-27. For certain, Terence Mann MUST get traded. MPJ and Claxton, IF the right deals emerge, can go too. What better way to showcase these three, as well as Cam Thomas, than for Jordi to rely upon them to win games?
Once the trade deadline passes, bring Saraf, Traore, and Wolf up from the G-League. They should be there now because they have no solid foundation upon which to build winning.
Showcase the vets to trade em, trade em, then bring in the rookies to finish the last ⅓ of the season.
Why "MUST?" The team is losing like the pro-tankers want. No one wants these guys anyway. Finally, if the rookies were ready to play, they'd be playing, no matter who else is on the team.
We must trade Mann because Marks plans on turning this team into a competitive team for the 2026-27 season. Dumping his contract will open up cap-space for this offseason to sign the next cornerstones of this team.
Marks my words: the Hawks will get a better draft pick than us thanks to that RIDICULOUS Pelicans trade. The Pacers will get a better pick as well. Trae Young is as good as gone from ATL. Can we get Porzingis and Bennedict Mathurin in free agency as well? With the Rockets holding our Pick, best believe these are ideas in Marks' head
Mann doesn't have a market--the Nets GOT a 1 for taking on his contract. Better for Marks to wait until he has the opportunity to trade for a star & then use Mann's cap number as filler. I have no idea at this stage who they'll target in FA. Finally, Nets can't control other teams' stupidity.
Using Mann as cap filler works. Using him in a deal to take on a bigger, shorter-term contract works as well. I'm thinking Anfernee Simons, who makes nearly $28M. Celtics need to get off more money. Perhaps something can be done there.
Also, we can't control other teams' stupidity, but many big city fans think Atlanta will be rewarded with a higher pick than Brooklyn. It can't be proven. It's just a hunch I have. Can't control the draft, but we can control the ability to compete. Marks outdid himself this year
Understand the microscopic sample size of 6-7 games, but Cedric Coward, an older player (22) taken at No. 11 overall by Memphis, has been the most impactful of the players the Nets could have selected. I think the Nets will rue taking Saraf over Hugo Gonzalez, but we'll see.
"(Traore) shouldn’t warrant a trophy every time he successfully brings the ball into the frontcourt without turning it over."
It's so bad... 😆, I look at all three rookie PGs like this. Sean Marks outdid himself in this year's tank job. It'll be a shame when we pick 5th while possessing the worst record in the League
Steve! EVERYTHING IS FINE!!

"I continue to be disappointed with his Draft Day choices, but not because he took kids who need seasoning."
Question: Who looks like the better picks where we selected based on the stats today?
